Boss of the Toss

It's time to really compete -- and have fun

Attention all you "recreational" washers players: We've got quite an event for you. Now, stop looking around like you don't know who we're talking to. You always have your washers set at the ready, so you can challenge people to a quick game — and then promptly show them the agony of defeat. But enough of this ad hoc stuff. It's time to test your mettle against your friendly washers peers at the Young Friends of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri's Pitching for Kids Washers Tournament. This fundraiser happens at the Cabanne House (5300 Lindell Boulevard), and teams of two can register online at www.bgtm.org or at the benefit beginning at 10 a.m. The $75 team fee covers at least two games, drinks and food, plus it helps the abused and neglected kids served by Boys & Girls Town — a definite bonus that has been lacking at those impromptu matches of yours.
