Boxing Clever

Just like a good scary movie can render you too fearful to get a drink of water from the kitchen by yourself, a good play can suck you into the story and make you feel that you're part of the production. With the OnSite Theatre Company, this sense of inclusion is intensified because the troupe puts on site-specific plays that are staged throughout each location, and audience members get into the rhythm of the show as they walk and watch the action unfold. Carter Lewis' Hit-Story, the company's latest offering, is staged at Sweat (8011 Maryland Avenue, Clayton), a boxing gym and fitness center, to better illustrate the physical effects of anger -- and we can only hope that the venue's boxing ring comes into play. Hit the gym at 7 or 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday (November 4 through 19) with the OnSite Theatre Company; tickets cost $20 through 314-686-0062 or www.onsitetheatre.org.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 4. Continues through Nov. 19, 2011
