Catch This!

Some folks are experts at keeping 50 ideas in their heads at once and totally staying on task. Others of us, not so much. We wonder which group jugglers fall into (ha!). Oh sure, these handsy people can keep eight balls, four bowling pins, er, clubs, three rubber chickens and six swords aloft, but can they multitask, say, at the office? Or do they just throw around reams of paper and staplers and such and call it a day? We've got to say that actual juggling would make for a much more fun day at work — just as the St. Louis Juggling Showcase 2009 will make for a couple of unusually fun nights out. Held at 8:30 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday (October 23 and 24) as part of the St. Louis Jugglefest, these performances promise stunning feats from Las Vegas' Ivan Pecel, Rochester, New York's Wes Peden and St. Louis' own Tony Pezzo, a sixteen-year-old juggling phenom who has already won awards and appeared in a Sony commercial, even at his young age. Arrive early at the May Auditorium in Simon Hall on Washington University's campus (near Big Bend and Forsyth boulevards) to ensure you get a showcase ticket — they are only sold at the door ($12) — and be ready to be wowed. Jugglefest is hosted by the National Prestigious Society of Collegiate Jugglers, St. Louis' and Wash. U.'s juggling club; learn more about the group and the showcase at www.wujuggling.com.
