Cats and Comics

Star Clipper Comics (6392 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-9110 or www.starclipper.com) celebrates its 25th anniversary today with a live performance by Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship, a massive in-store sale, the fifth installment of comic book trivia and cat adoptions through Tenth Life Cat Adoption. Those cat adoptions are key because Ignatz-Award winning comics creator Jeffrey Brown -- of Cat Getting Out of a Bag and Cats Are Weird fame -- will also be present, signing copies of his comics from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Brown's latest book is Star Wars Jedi Academy, another of his heartwarming takes on a kid-filled Star Wars expanded universe. Star Clipper Day 2013 runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and admission is free.
