The Saint Louis Science Center's (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4424 or www.slsc.org) First Friday event is your monthly opportunity to explore science in a hands-on environment. This month's installment, The Science of Sherlock Holmes, has a plethora of forensic activities in store. You can meet cadaver-sniffing dogs, hear a lecture by Maryville University professor Tom Spudich on Holmesian science and deductive reasoning, and learn forensic procedures from the St. Louis Police Department's crime lab. There is also some 3-D printing and video-game testing in there, as well as episodes of the BBC's Sherlock series screened in the OMNIMAX at 6:30 and 10 p.m. (as well as one of the best Star Trek: TNG episodes at 8:30 p.m.). The intrigue starts at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets for the special exhibition are $13.50 to $17.50.
