Chug for a Pug

(And eat something, too)

Our office pug, Myrtle, doesn't visit as much as she used to. Time was, we'd hear the telltale scamper of tiny paws at least twice a week. The decrease in Myrtletude has upped our productivity, we suppose, and there hasn't been any poop under the staff writers' desks (at least, not any of canine provenance) — but a pug-free office is a sad office indeed. Find out more about this intelligent, super-friendly breed at the Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption (SEPRA) fundraiser at the Delmar Restaurant & Lounge (6235 Delmar Boulevard; 314-725-6565). Between 5 and 11 p.m., the Delmar donates 15 percent of all of its sales to SEPRA, an organization that rescues pugs (and pug mixes) in need and helps place them in happy, healthy new homes. Order anything off of the Delmar's tempting menu (we love the indulgent steak-blue cheese quesadillas), enjoy some beverages (wine, perhaps, or an expertly mixed martini), and be glad that a good portion of your bill is going to a most-worthy cause. You don't have to be a pug owner to appreciate the joy these adorable pups bring — and to know that many of them need your help. Learn more about SEPRA by calling 770-887-9741 or visiting
