Circle 'Round the Square

There's something about the holiday season that makes it perfectly acceptable (and desirable) to explore the festively decorated houses of strangers, and what better place to do so than in one of St. Louis' most beautifully constructed regions? The 2011 Lafayette Square Holiday Parlor and Church Tour gives you the opportunity to visit nine gorgeous homes and two neighborhood churches that will be decked out with holiday embellishments. Each home on display will feature exquisitely decorated dining and parlor rooms for visitors to enjoy, and many of the square's shops will be open with specials for those on the tour. A free trolley will be available for transportation to each of the tour destinations, as well as complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides. Tickets are $15 to $20 and available by calling 314-772-5724 or visiting www.lafayettesqr.com. You can pick them up at the Park House (2023 Lafayette Avenue), which is also the tour's starting point.
