Circus Is UniverSoul

The circus is in town! And this one is more than just tightrope walking and acrobatics (though there's some of that, too). The UniverSoul Circus blends pop culture with international performers from as far as China, South Africa and Poland to bring a modern-day feel to sitting under the big top. For one week only, the crew sets up in the parking lot of the Jamestown Mall (Lindbergh Boulevard and Old Jamestown Road, Florissant; www.universoulcircus.com). The current show marks the company's twentieth year in business, and it includes illusionists, motorcyclists, trapeze artists and prancing dogs. The energy and skill you'll see unfold just might inspire you to try yoga once it's over -- or at least see the show a second time. The UniverSoul Circus performs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday; 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; noon, 4 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and 12:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday (July 22 through 27). Tickets are $16 to $40.
Tue., July 22, 7:30 p.m.; July 23-25, 10:30 a.m. & 7:30 p.m.; Sat., July 26, 12, 4 & 7:30 p.m.; Sun., July 27, 12:30, 3:30 & 6:30 p.m., 2014
