The ten artists exhibiting work in the Glass-Wear show at the Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-1177 or www.craftalliance.org) normally create jewelry, which implies a reliance on "jewels." But for Glass-Wear, they were challenged to work with glass instead; the results are luminous objects that draw their value (aesthetic and monetary) not from the materials but from the artifice employed in making them. Check out those tiger-striped pretties in Ginger Kelly's bracelet — you can't get that from a diamond. Glass-Wear remains on display through Sunday, July 9.
