Comedy for Kids' Sake

In the world of superheroes, nothing's better than a team-up; That rule holds true in the world of Super-8 films as well. Tonight at 8 p.m. at the Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638), Super-8 Movie Madness teams up with Roger's Reels for a special fundraiser for the National Children's Cancer Society. Roger has selected from his 16mm film collection three classic sitcoms, which will be screened in their entirety: "Fonzie's Hero" from Happy Days, "Lucy Meets Superman" from I Love Lucy and the legendary "Barney and the Choir" episode of The Andy Griffith Show. That's a lot of comedy for one night, but he's not done. Tom Stockman offers up more Don Knotts in an 8mm cut of The Reluctant Astronaut, plus truncated versions of Phantasm and Bette Midler in The Rose (really, Tom?). Admission is $4, and all of that will be given to the National Children's Cancer Society.
