Cowboy Junkies

When you think of cowboys, maybe you ponder what it would be like to wear spurs, or you mull over Ed Bruce’s warning to your mama, or you dream about that football team in Texas. But when you think about Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue; www.atomic-cowboy.com), you probably remember all the kickass times you’ve had at this bar/lounge/restaurant, courtesy of the awesome party-throwers over there. Well, be prepared for another amazing night when the second installment of the Cowboy Cabaret goes down at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 1. Gravity Plays Favorites, Alley Cat Lola Van Ella and other performers sexify this sensuously tasteful burlesque show, while the Blazing Saddles Orchestra plays on. Tickets to this night of cabaret-done-Cowboy-style cost $5 for standing-room, but you really should pay the $25 for a seat in advance by calling 314-775-0775. (Note: The first cabaret sold out; if you miss this one, there’s another Sunday, August 5.) Oh, and leave the spurs at home -- you ain’t no real cowboy.
Sun., July 1; Sun., Aug. 5
