Criminals Make Christmas Merry

It's Christmas Eve, and Felix's world is falling down around him. His business is failing because he's too kindly to actually ask his customers for payment, his daughter's beau is marrying another woman and his own wife is a nervous wreck because of the neighbors. The family lives in French Guiana, which is still a penal colony in 1910 -- which means the neighbors are mostly convicts and "bad men." In fact, the men working on his home are all convicts. But how bad is "bad?" Overhearing Felix's woes, the trio of criminals resolve to use their special skills -- forgery, extortion and murder -- to help right some wrongs and make Felix's Christmas a success. Samuel and Bella Spewack's My Three Angels is a comic take on the idea of "good vs. evil;" sometimes, you need to do a little evil to help good get a leg up. St. Louis Actors' Studio presents My Three Angels at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday (December 2 through 18) at the Gaslight Theater (358 North Boyle Avenue; 314-458-2978 or www.stlas.org). Tickets are $20 to $25.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 2. Continues through Dec. 18, 2011
