D'eclair Your Love for Donuts

The quantity and quality of locally-owned and operated doughnut shops in the Lou is unheard of -- baker's dozens of small shops serving up fried, glazed cakes whose only flaw is that pesky hole in the middle (we miss that bite!). And there's no better way to burn off those calories than with a casual bike ride through the city streets. Take a bicycle tour of fine breakfast desserts this Sunday, April 15, with the Tour D'Onut. The confection procession takes off at World's Fair Doughnuts (1904 South Vandeventer; 314-776-9975), continues to O'Fashion Donuts, St. Louis Hills Donut Shop, Eddie's Southtown Donuts, Plaza Pastries & Donuts, and it all ends with a donut-themed reception and awards ceremony at Tower Grove Park's Pool Pavilion. Doughnut costumes are encouraged.
