You do realize, of course, that today represents the maximum amount of time one must wait for the next St. Patrick's Day. Ah, how the days crawl! What can one do to get a fix of the ol' Hibernian Hoochie-Koo? Shamrocks, shamrocks everywhere, but no green beer to drink!

Oh, but there is this: Dervish, County Sligo's leading exporter of traditional Irish music, takes the Touhill Performing Arts Center stage (on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, 1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or at 8 p.m. Yes. Or rather, "Aye." An evening of blistering reels and tear-jerking ballads are just what the doctor ordered. Music soothes the savage breast, but Irish music lulls the world-worn heart and salves all sorrows. And it's a much better alternative than sitting around the house Jameson-tippling while watching Darby O'Gill and the Little People incessantly. Sean Connery's not even Irish!
