The physicality of an energetic dance performance can be impressive enough, but when you mix that endurance with incredible video projection and a minimal-yet-entrancing score, you get more than a breathtaking production -- you get magic. See for yourself this weekend when the United Kingdom's Motionhouse dance-theater company takes over the Edison Theatre on Washington University's campus (6445 Forsyth Boulevard). The company presents Scattered, a modern-dance study of all forms of water -- as an unforgiving solid, in saturating abundance and in desperate drought -- on both the traditional flat stage and a vertical one, which serves as both screen and prop. In other words, there will be moments that you wish you could scroll back and see again and again. Scattered is performed at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (March 21 and 22), and tickets cost $20 to $36; visit www.edison.wustl.edu to make a purchase.
