Encyclopedia Botanica

As summer draws to a close, MOMIX, the multimedia magicians of modern dance, will pull back the cover on their encyclopedia of illusions for a one-night only performance of Botanica, a mesmerizing celebration of our natural world. The seasons unfold page by page and surreally spring to life in a spectacle renowned for keeping audiences rooted to their seats. Utilizing elaborate costumes, hypnotic projections and artfully conceived puppets, dancers transform into sunflowers, thunder clouds and dazzling rays of light. Make sure to choreograph your week around MOMIX in Botanica's one and only performance at 7:30 p.m. this evening at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). Tickets are $35.
