Enjoy Fruitcakes

No, really!

If there's one thing Ms. Day is sure of during this confusing season of Santa vs. the Snowman and giving vs. receiving, it's that everyone ought to attend the upcoming Gateway Men's Chorus show gleefully dubbed Fruitcakes. And she knows this event should become part of your annual celebrations (if it's not already) because last year's GMC holiday concert was so uplifting and funny and, well, fabulous that this year's show is bound to be even better — especially since the chorus is celebrating its twentieth anniversary! Plus, the seasonal lights will seem to shine just a bit brighter when you support the GMC, a local ensemble that's a member of GALA Choruses (a nonprofit organization that serves GLBT choirs). So to do as Ms. Day strongly recommends — and thereby be delighted by a great performance — head to the Grandel Theatre (3610 Grandel Square; 314-621-7286) at 8 p.m. Friday or Saturday night (December 15 or 16). But before you go, buy your ticket in advance via www.gatewaymenschorus.org or www.metrotix.com; it will cost you $23 to $50, and your holiday joy will be endless.
