You haven't heard of Etsy? Well, allow us to introduce you to your new favorite time- and cash-siphon. The website (www.etsy.com) acts as central online market for the global handmade craft scene, allowing artisans to sell their goods directly to the customer without a middleman. One minute you're looking for a new shower curtain and the next thing you know two hours have gone by and you're face to face with a $300 online shopping cart full of adorable knick knacks. And now you don't even need to log on to make a purchase -- the third annual Etsy Art Sale and Holiday Open House at the Contemporary Art Museum (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.camstl.org) stars more than 30 local Etsy sellers with their homemade wares set out for real-life browsing. The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening, with live music by the Griddle Kids as a backdrop. Admission is free, and a donated canned food item earns you a free drink ticket.
