On June 25, former President Donald Trump held a rally in Mendon, Illinois, two hours north of St. Louis, to support U.S. Rep. Mary Miller in advance of her primary matchup against Rep. Rodney Davis.
The event came just one day after the Supreme Court overturned
Roe V. Wade in a landmark ruling that upended nearly 50 years of precedent and sent the legality of abortions to be determined by individual states. Trump and his allies spent the rally claiming victory for the ruling and crediting the former president for installing three of the justices who ruled in favor of doing so. A crowd of thousands braved the sweltering temperatures to bear witness, including
RFT's own
Reuben Hemmer, who brought back these photos.
