Fancy A Spot of Tea?

Jan 9, 2014 at 4:00 am
The Craft Alliance is 50 years old in 2014, and it hosts a lavish tea party to mark the occasion. fif-TEA: Fourteenth Biennial Teapot Exhibit continues Craft Alliance's long-running tradition of challenging artists to rethink the humble teapot. More than 50 artists responded to the call, which this year also required them to design a cup with their pot. The results range from Eric Serritella's fantastic tree and stumps disguised as a tea set to Dan Barnett's odds 'n' ends pot that's part home-made still, part steam engine. fif-TEA opens with a free reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 10, at Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-1177 or www.craftalliance.org). The show remains up through Sunday, March 23, and the gallery is open every day except Monday.
Sundays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 10. Continues through March 23, 2014
