Fashion Forges Ahead

Ms. Day considers herself among the fashionable. She obeys all of the dos and don’ts and tries to keep up with the times, but it seems she missed an important story about the development of a new clothing item: the swacket. Are you all apprised of this combo creation? Ms. Day can imagine what this article of clothing is (a sweatery-looking jacket, perhaps?), but she hopes to learn more at Marta’s Benefit Fashion Show, held at 7 p.m. at the Kemp Auto Museum (16955 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield). During this style-stravaganza, we’ll discover the wonders of the swacket as well as the beauty of the even-more-mysterious tiger jeans and other fashionista must-haves, all while filling our tummies with drinks and apps. Tickets for the fancy fun cost $35 to $45 and can be purchased at Marta’s boutique (1352 Clarkson-Clayton Center, Ellisville) or at the door. Proceeds from the night go to Ranken Jordan, a pediatric specialty hospital. For more information call the museum at 636-537-1718 or visit www.kempautomuseum.org.
