Fast Food Workers Strike

More than 100 fast-food workers and their supporters marched through the Delmar Loop Thursday, May 9, 2013 to demand higher pay for low-wage workers. The group "STL Can't Survive on $7.35" (i.e. minimum wage) wants employees in the fast-food industry to earn a living wage of $15 an hour and be free to organize as a union without retaliation from their employers. The group orchestrated other pickets this week outside area McDonald's, Wendy's, Hardee's and Jimmy John's restaurants. Photos by Krystyna Ninh. See also:
