As it is with most music genres, dance styles overlap, intertwine and build off of one another, making it difficult to distinctively categorize many performances under the heading of just one dance discipline. There's always a hint of that thrown in or a nod to this, which enriches each concert and provides a glimpse into the wide world of movement. However, PHILADANCO, or the Philadelphia Dance Company, believes in doing more than just giving nods and providing glimpses: The dancers who are part of this company work elements of ballet, modern, jazz and African American dance traditions into each dynamic performance, offering punches rather than hints of the different dance forms. Be wowed by the beauty (and range) of movement and the raw power of dance when PHILADANCO performs at Washington University's Edison Theatre (6445 Forsyth Boulevard) this weekend. Concerts happen at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (February 19 and 20), with a special Ovations for Young People show at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets cost $10 to $32 at 314-534-1111 or
