Feels Like the First Time

The popularity of burlesque has always lain in its mystery: show just enough to get their attention, hold it, and leave them wanting more. Instructor Lola Van Ella teaches her students the art of maintaining that mystery, as you'll see at the Van Ella Studios Student Showcase. The senior students of the burlesque academy will show you what they learned this summer, as will their instructors Greta Garter, Ami Amore, Jeez Loueez and Foxy la Feelion. Be prepared to have your feathers ruffled, and consider it instructional entertainment. Who knows, next season you may be intrigued enough to find yourself on stage, giving (almost) all of it away. The showcase starts at 9 p.m. at 2720 (2720 Cherokee Street; Tickets are $15.
