Good afternoon, tattooed restaurant workers of St. Louis. If you enjoyed Kitchen Ink, Jennifer Silverberg's recent RFT photo essay on tattooed restaurant workers of St. Louis, but wondered, "Why wasn't I and my tattoo of Nonna's lasagna included in that feature?" be advised that tonight is the night to redress that wrong. Kitchen Ink, a fundraiser for St. Louis Area Foodbank, takes place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Pi Pizzeria's Delmar Loop location (6144 Delmar Boulevard; 314-727-6633 or www.restaurantpi.com), and the divine Ms. Silverberg (she's married, but she's a liberated woman and shit so she kept the name) will be on site with a photo studio set up to capture your ink in all its glory. This is a bit personal but germane to the topic at hand, so permit the writer to add that he has been photographed by Silverberg many times (candid, boudoir and artistic nude), and she'll do you and your work justice. Admission to the photo party is $2 at the door, and note that while Kitchen Ink is intended as a celebration of St. Louis' restaurant folk, the general public is also welcome to mingle with their favorite restaurant crews and servers while aiding a good cause. And eating pizza, of course.
