Flower Power

As a child, Ms. Day had an adventurous palate. She wasn’t afraid to eat honeysuckles (yum!), buttercups (not so yum) and various other pretties in the garden. But despite her willingness to try new “foods” back then, she doesn’t dine with many blooms anymore. It’s a dreary, bland existence, really, and she’s hoping that Flowers and Food, today’s theme at the Clayton Farmer's Market (8282 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton), will bring the blossoms back to the table. While Day shops, she’ll pay special attention to choosing both flowers and foods that will look pretty together -- no word if these fleurs for sale are of the edible variety. For more information about the market’s other offerings, visit This shopping spot is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through September 29.
