Many shed tears when Electrelane split last year, but guitarist Mia Clarke hasn't looked back. After collaborating with members of the Ex and pursuing a freelance writing career, she has settled down in Chicago and formed a new band called Follows with members of Atombombpocketknife and Russian Circles. While currently unsigned, the band leaked three promising songs on its MySpace page. Each tune begins quietly and darkly, with Clarke's striking, Nico-esque croon entering before waves of noise and distortion finally swamp the proceedings. The echoey, low-tech production adds an eerie atmosphere that official releases will hopefully preserve. Follows is coming down from Chicago specifically to play this show, so St. Louis gets a rare opportunity to be first onboard.
