Forget Lunchin'

Enjoy jazz brunchin'

In life, there are people who achieve greatness, and, well, there are those who don't. Lucky for Mae "Lady Jazz" Wheeler, she belongs in the former category. This performer has sung her heart out all over St. Louis for years, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, she is being toasted with a brunch and concert — that's right: "Lady Jazz" can sit back and enjoy songs performed by others for a change (Kim Massie, Charles Glenn, Danita Mumphard, the Jazz Edge big band and the Tony Simmons Ensemble are all on the bill). Call 314-383-1327 or 314-435-7685 to reserve your spot at "A Potpourri of Jazz" at the Norwood Hills Country Club (1 Norwood Hills Country Club Drive). This tribute brunch costs $40 — a spectacular price to help honor a lifetime of greatness — and proceeds benefit the scholarship fund of the Zeta Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. (which will help others achieve some greatness of their own).
