Four Course Exhibit: Art for All Tastes

It's a common problem: Mom likes photography, Pop enjoys landscapes, sister Sue adores sculpture and Mike...well, his head is always in the clouds. This Friday, the St. Louis Artists' Guild delivers a catch-all opening reception celebrating four fabulous new exhibitions, and it's all but guaranteed to stifle any in-family feuding. Silver in the Digital Age focuses on contemporary artists using classic analog darkroom techniques; Lay of the Land is a multimedia exhibit inspired by the landscape around us; New Works by Diana Hoffmann displays the artist's latest technicolor sculptures and paintings; and White Cloud Lament features a series of prints looking back at the historic St. Louis steamboat era. The opening reception will run from 6 p.m. to 9 tonight at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild (Two Oak Knoll Park, Clayton; 314-727-6266). Admission is free, and the work will remain on display through October 21. For more information, visit
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 24. Continues through Oct. 21, 2012
