With the economic-crisis talk at a fever pitch, Patrick Creadon's new documentary, I.O.U.S.A., could not be any more topical. The film (which features financial guys like Robert Bixby and David Walker, pictured) takes a decidedly nonpartisan look at the flabbergasting pickle we as a nation have gotten ourselves into, and in plain English, explains just what the term "national debt" means. From a $738.6 billion trade deficit to around $9 trillion in federal debt, the USA's red ink boils down to a staggering $30,000 for each man, woman and child in the country. The Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599) screens I.O.U.S.A. at 7 p.m., and the film is followed by a panel discussion moderated by Jim Kirchherr from KETC-TV (Channel 9).
