From Good to Wurst

Are you bummed by the news that there'll be no Strassenfest this year? Do you weep inconsolably when you hear the faint strains of a far-off oompah band, knowing that downtown St. Louis' German festival won't take place? There, there, liebling. You'll cheer right up as soon as you arrive at Wurstfest. This annual celebration of German food and culture takes place in Hermann at various locations, including Stone Hill Winery (1110 Stone Hill Highway), Hermannhof Winery (330 East First Street) and Hermann Farm (208 East First Street). Throughout the weekend enjoy your fill of sausage, check out the old-world-style cooking demonstrations and much more. Experience the best wurst time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 30 (the festival also runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29). Sampling sausage costs $6; call 800-932-8687 or visit for more information.
