Certain things are a given during each holiday season. You've got your constant carols playing out over every speaker, massive amounts of cookies and eats that too often fill your eager belly, decorations and lights everywhere, and lovely productions that share the story of a special night when a nutcracker came to life. The Moscow Ballet presents its own such performance at the Peabody Opera House (14th and Market streets) at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday (November 30 and December 1). The Great Russian Nutcracker offers up a ton of talented Russian dancers, stunning costumes and, of course, Tchaikovsky's unforgettable score. With your ticket (prices range from $43.65 to $98.95), you can attend the Christmas party and watch the magic begin, and then follow it through assorted faraway lands, from Africa to Asia.
