Eat big, give big

Whether or not you’re a dog owner, it’s your civic duty to push away Mom’s home cookin’, gorge yourself on entrees at the area’s finest eateries and load up on a week’s worth of doggy bags — it’s time again already for Dining Out for Life! Previously held in November, this table-hopping fundraiser has been moved up to tonight, putting it in sync with the nation’s other “Dining Out” events. More than 100 local restaurants will donate between 25 and 50 percent of your breakfast, lunch and/or dinner checks to Saint Louis Effort for AIDS. And the Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue; 314-775-0775 or www.atomiccowboystl.com) pledges to hand over a staggering 100 percent of the day’s receipts to this most worthy cause! Visit www.diningoutforlife.com/stlouis for a list of participating establishments and for more information, and check out www.stlefa.org for more about the charity.
