Get Wicked

"No one mourns the wicked." So sings the rejoicifying chorus of Ozians after the Wicked Witch of the West is pronounced dead. And clearly no one mourns Wicked the musical, either, except for when it's over. After breaking box-office records at the Fox Theatre in 2005 and 2007, as well as national attendance records, the show returns for a third run this summer. The back-story of the witches of Oz takes on touching themes of friendship, loyalty and tough choices — and staying true to oneself through it all. A story worth revisiting, indeed. Wicked opens at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1678 or www.fabulousfox.com), and the play continues every day except Monday through Sunday, July 11. Tickets are $33 to $90.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 16. Continues through July 11, 2010
