Joe Lally may not be a household name, but when it comes to post-hardcore legends, it's difficult to top the contribution Lally has made to the genre as the bassist for Fugazi. However, just because his main act is on hiatus doesn't mean that he hasn't kept busy: Lally's latest solo effort, Nothing Is Underrated, shows that his music is just as inventive when he turns down the volume. Lally is currently out on the road with the Boston act Glorytellers, a group featuring Karate's Geoff Farina, that relies on acoustic instrumentation, while still retaining Farina's unique, indie-jazz arrangements ("Tears Of," "Awake at the Wheel"). Hey, if nothing else, both of these performers prove that indie-rock icons can grow old gracefully, too.
