Go Green

Irish-green eyes don't have to be the only ones smiling this time of year -- St. Louis-area St. Patrick's Day festivities are open to all who want to celebrate, celebrate and, uh, celebrate some more. Take the St. Patrick's Day Parade revelry held downtown. There's all kinds of food (wood-fired pizzas, barbecue, you name it), more than enough beer, music, personal party tents and so, so, so much green, both on parade participants and onlookers -- your rods and cones might have a hard time adjusting! To get in the spirit of the season, be sure to set yourself up along Market Street (from 18th Street to Broadway) by noon for the parade and the party that follows, and note: For the overly ambitious, there's even a five-mile run at 9 a.m.! Register for the run ($29 to $35) and learn more about all of the activities of the day at www.irishparade.org.
