What is it about pugs that makes them so darn precious, so irresistibly adorable? Is it the wee wrinkly faces? The attentive head-tilting? The scampering, the bounding, the happy snuffling? Whatever the appeal is, pugs have it in spades, which explains their popularity (and their infrequent Dog Whisperer appearances — 'cause pugs know how to act right, son). Not every pug has found the right person, though, which is why the second annual Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. (SEPRA) Fundraiser Dinner is so important. Dine at the Delmar Restaurant & Lounge (6235 Delmar Boulevard) tonight between 5 and 11 p.m., and 20 percent of the food-and-beverage sales goes to SEPRA. That's right: All you have to do is enjoy the Delmar's delicious food (and perhaps something from the wine or martini list), and pugs and pug mixes reap the benefits.
