Going, Going...

Catch some art before it's gone!

When art exhibits open, it is with much fanfare and circumstance. The receptions are packed with people checking out the art and excitedly discussing the show. Yet when an exhibit closes, the scene is often much different — the works come down, the lights go out, and life continues. The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.contemporarystl.org) would like for its current exhibit to go out with more than a whimper, so the museum is offering a free Last Chance Tour at noon today with assistant curator Laura Fried. She will discuss the works on display by Aïda Ruilova and Lutz Bacher, and you will have the pleasure of learning a little something before the show's over (it ends on Sunday, January 4). Sounds like a good deal to us.
