Gone a-Courting

The Skinker-DeBaliviere area has always had a special place in our hearts. The diverse population, the giant trees, the divine desserts at Atlas: It’s definitely time to do some singin’ about this unsung neighborhood. Check it out for yourself at the Thursday, September 13, installment of Cinema on the Court. Sponsored by the DeBaliviere Place Association, this outdoor movie series takes place right on the Park Station Tennis Court at 5541 Pershing Avenue. Bring some blankets and a picnic dinner (or purchase popcorn, shaved ice and beverages from the on-site concession stands), and enjoy a free screening of the George Clooney/Brad Pitt heist film Ocean’s Eleven. The movie begins 30 minutes after dusk, but the gates open at 7 p.m., giving you plenty of time to mingle with friends. The next (and final) installment of Cinema on the Court is on Thursday, September 20; the featured flick that night is Sleepless in Seattle. Call 314-361-8300 for more information.
