A dozen graffiti artists went head-to-head for a $1,500 prize in the R-Sole "Ink Off" at 2720 Cherokee on Saturday, May 15, 2010. The contest was sort of like an NCAA Tournament of street art -- each artist was given an 8' x 8'canvas and a 90 minutes to create something better (in the eyes of the judges) than their opponent. Materials ranged from classic aerosol spray cans to felt-tipped markers to airbrush to traditional brush and palette. The winner went by the name Grandpa and hailed from Springfield, Missouri.
