In their perfect dream world, some people would choose to swim in Willy Wonkas river of chocolate; others would enjoy gobbling their way out of a deep-dish pizza. But not Ms. Day. While she appreciates both the pizza- and choco-licious reveries, she would prefer to rest her head on a pillow of pastitsio each night after shes filled her belly with treats of the flaming-cheese and baklava-sundae variety. Fortunately for her, the Greek Festival will make Days dream practically reality. This mostly food-focused fair, put on by St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, features all of Ms. Days favorite Greek dishes and then some. Plus, Bouzouki Pete and Christo play live music, Mediterranean gifts are for sale, and the church is open for tours. To live the dream, get to the corner of South Kingshighway Boulevard and Forest Park Avenue anytime from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, or from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday (September 1 through 3). Admission to the fest is free, but food and gifts cost extra. Call 314-361-6924 or visit www.sngoc.org/GreekFest for more information.
