Kipps is a lawyer haunted by a strange experience he had at a funeral, one he's never been able to fully articulate to anyone else. He hires an actor to train him how to better tell the story, and in doing so is finally able talk about what happened. Kipps was at the funeral of an elderly recluse and suddenly saw a mysterious woman dressed in black -- and just getting to that point in the story unsettles some people who seem to know who she is. Stephen Mallatratt's The Woman in Black is a ghost story that gets at the heart of fear with just two characters and a the telling of a tale. Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble presents The Woman in Black at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (October 30 through November 9) at the Chapel (6238 Alexander Drive; 314-827-5760 or www.slightlyoff.org). Tickets are $15 to $20.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 30. Continues through Nov. 9, 2013
