For some artists, destruction is very much a part of their creative process. But that's not exactly the spirit of what's going to be happening at Art Attack. Oh, sure, at this fundraiser for KDHX (88.1 FM), there will be plenty of art -- 32 paintings, to be exact. And, yep, a palatable air of destruction will hang over the evening. But alas, this destruction is of the no-holds-barred, no-turning-back variety. And you, dear reader, wield all of the power. Here's how: Throughout the single-elimination tournament, two artworks compete against one another for your love and adoration (i.e., your applause). After each round of voting, the preferred piece advances to compete again; however, the fate of the other artwork is more precarious. This painting lands on the auction block, and if it garners enough attention, to the highest bidder goes the work. But if folks aren't generous enough -- this is a fundraiser, after all -- the piece meets a devastating demise by roller girl, chainsaw or any other number of mutilating misfortunes. In other words, for the sake of art, and KDHX, and all that is holy, bid early, bid often and bid generously! Tickets to this event, held at 6 p.m. at Plush (3224 Locust Street), cost $15; to make a purchase, visit, and to learn more, check out
