Heaven and Hell, Together 

The organ has a loud, haunting timbre that the kids should really dig, but this instrument is typically played by the more, ahem, mature among us. Maybe this is because of the lack of portability (you know, organs are pretty large), or perhaps kids today just aren’t cool enough to rock the pipes. Well, most kids aren’t cool enough, that is. At least one younger person has managed to master this instrument, and he’s performing at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (4431 Lindell Boulevard) as part of the Saint Louis Cathedral Concerts series. Felix Hell -- what a last name for such a holy venue! -- is twenty-one now, but his organ career began at the tender age of eight.
