The mission of the Saint Louis City Open Studio and Gallery (SCOSAG) is to provide art instruction for kids, but it also gives St. Louis artists an outlet to share their love of creation with an eager, appreciative audience. It's definitely a two-way exchange, as the kids and the artists find a common ground in the joy of making something together. Tonight, you're invited to join in on the fun at the eighth installment of SCOSAG's popular fundraiser, Wall Ball. Artists donate their time and talent to create art on the spot, which you can then bid on via sign-up sheet as the work unfolds. This year's Wall Ball boasts more than 70 artists, six DJs, two floors of wonder, a cupcake raffle and the singular wonder of the Bubble Bus — and the beneficiaries are the kids, their families and, of course, the artists. Wall Ball takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at NEO on Locust (2801 Locust Street; www.scosag.org). Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door. If you're still feeling festive when it's over, the after-party is at Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue), where admission is free with your Wall Ball wristband or $3 without.
