At the foot of the hill near the palace of the Dalai Lama, a miss pageant is held every year. The film shows this thrilling competition with only one participant. The story of the contrast between modern life and an ancient culture in exile

As a revolution ignites, the hidden lives of three girls worshipped as goddesses unfold. Set in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal, the film begins as an elegy to a private world of ritual and devotion. Their ancient world collides irreversibly with the modern world as an ancient prophecy unfolds. The King wrests power as a Maoist-led civil war rages. The people take to the streets demanding freedom. The struggle for power is seen through the eyes of the child-goddesses, in a story of changing worlds.
