There are few children's tales that are sweeter, simpler and more affecting than Arnold Loebel's Frog and Toad series. For decades, children (and, certainly, their parents) have learned valuable lessons about friendship, teamwork and patience from these green-skinned besties. The summer interns at Insight Theatre Company stage a production of A Year with Frog & Toad, the musical adaptation of the beloved books. The wonderful show is presented by an equally wonderful program: Insight Theatre provides student interns with the opportunity to work with some of St. Louis' most talented theater professionals, learning all aspects of the business. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (June 30 through July 3), at the Heagney Theatre on the campus of Nerinx Hall High School (530 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves). Tickets are just $10 and may be purchased online at or by calling 314-556-1293.
