Summer weather arrived like a big ol’ pile of sweaty flapjacks last week, and if you, too, are without central A/C, Mr. Night would like to offer this piece of advice: Stay out of the house as long as you can. When “stuffy, prickly and overbearing” describes both the second floor of the house and your crotch, you need to get out and soak up every breeze possible. Hit up Heman Park (7210 Olive Boulevard, University City; 314-505-5612 or at 7:30 p.m. tonight, and not only can you lie in the cooling grass and relax, but you can also enjoy the R&B action of Fanfare. That’s right, the Starlight Concert Series is back in business, and there’s no better entertainment on a hot night than free, cool music. Blankets, lawn chairs, picnic baskets and friends are all welcome, but bottles aren’t. There is a nearby grocery store where you can buy Popsicles, however, which makes everything better.
