When setting aside time to check out a gallery show, you might worry that you won't like any of the work displayed, thereby wasting said time. Luckily, the Philip Slein Gallery (1319 Washington Avenue; 314-621-4634 or www.philipsleingallery.com) has found a surefire way to prevent such disappointments with the current show, Summer in the City. This exhibit, which is on view Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., features the work of more than ten wonderful artists — so odds are you'll like something by one (or more) of them. Whether it's Summertime Madness by Michael Noland, Geo/Ego by Fred Stonehouse, something by Art Chantry or something else entirely, we can guarantee that you will leave the gallery happy, or at least pensive. And that's what a good art show is all about, isn't it? The free exhibit remains up through Saturday, August 19, which gives you plenty of opportunities for good times and excellent art.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: July 7. Continues through Aug. 19
