I Would Dine 4 U

The “dine-out-for-(fill-in-the-blank)” system has worked pretty well for everybody: A charitable organization gets restaurants to donate a percentage of one day’s take in exchange for promoting the benefit like crazy. So you’ll go eat on a typically slow day for the restaurant biz -- Tuesday, for example -- and the establishment has more business, and, most important, the nonprofit gets some dough. Participate in one of these generous meals today during Dining 4 Kids, which benefits St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and at least 20 percent of what you spend on your meal goes to the hospital so it can “do what’s right for kids.” All kinds of restaurants -- from Atlas Restaurant (5513 Pershing Avenue) to Wapango (2020 Chesterfield Mall, Chesterfield) -- are participating; see www.dining4kids.com for a complete listing and more information.
